Overall Rating: MDP Member: truth2power Date Rated: 2/20/2010 10:09:15 PM My dissatisfaction stems more from the Medicare D RX Plan, rather than from the particular type of plan it is. Before the Republicans forced this upon us, my husband's company gave us a wonderful retiree RX plan with low co-pays and excellent service. After this plan, they decided the company no longer had to provide their retirees with their own RX plan, even though they had promised they would do so, during decades of loyal service to the company. Now, we are stuck with this piece of garbage, which is exactly what it is. AARP Preferred was much better last year and the year before. Co-pays are getting higher, and the Prescription Solutions Mail Order Service has become dysfunctional. Customer service representatives are not well versed in the rules and regulations, and no one cares about the people they are "serving." Overall Rating: MDP Member: eileen39 Date Rated: 12/3/2007 2:04:05 PM they have added restrictions on drugs during the year ie: PA which requires the Dr. who wrote the script to CALL! they refuse and I don't blame them. If he orders nexium 40mgm.daily, how can they refuse to fill unless PA? They are taking over the dr's role. Then sometimes if you use their mail service there is suddenly no need for a PA. 2008 three of my medications have moved from tier 2 to tier 3, with a QL or ST added. They are again, deciding you should try a generic equivalent not even a true generic! Overall Rating: MDP Member: hoarcroft Date Rated: 2/9/2006 3:55:09 PM One's view depends on whether one's drug list is encompassed in the Formulary, whether the cost of the generics covers a year's needs, and the quality of the dispensing pharmacy. Walgreen's mail order division included an invitation and other information with my notice of acceptance into the AARP plan. I tried them out with my first script for one medication. It turned out to be even cheaper than the generic I had been ordering from Canada, and it arrived very quickly. I've now decided to abandon my local pharmacy in my rather pricey community and order everything I need from Walgreen's. I'll need more experience with my decision before giving a "final" review, but this is so far a very good start.
