Benzodiazepines are one of the drug categories not mandated for coverage under Part D. Popular drugs included in this class are Ativan, Restoril, Valium. CIGNA is the only PDP in Region 2 having Klonopin on its formulary.

In addition to CIGNA, I discovered tonight Blue Medicare could be an option. The price quoted for generic clonazepam 0.5 mg #180 is very reasonable at just $13.71. I put in generic Ativan, Restoril, and Valium, and without further checking, the prices given appear to be in the ballpark.

Just be careful--nonformulary means it does not count in meeting your OOP requirements.
