I just found a perfect example tonight of the outrageous prices charged by plans. A very common drug, Levoxyl, for low thyroid, has a SEVENTY DOLLAR copayment for 30 tablets of 100 mcg for WellCare Signature. I knew that was absurd, so i just checked the price at drugstore.com, and it will charge $10.99 for the same prescription.
Lesson is: Know what a reasonable price is. Just because you have an insurance card, it doesn't mean you should use it every time. This is a perfect example.
