The plan does not send you information that is up to date on how much you have spent before getting into the donut hole. Unfortunately, I cannot afford the drugs when I am in the donut hole and have six months out of the year struggling to receive any of my drugs. I have COPD and am on oxygen 24/7 - need inhalers every day and all day. The prices keep going up every year and seems I am in the donut hole faster every year - especially since they are getting to be nearly $300 an inhaler. I have 3 inhalers a day - that amounts to a lot of money. I have to go onto AARP's website in order to know how much I have left before hitting the donut hole. I am now seeking help to help me with the next six months. My income is about $200 short of being on Medicaid. I'm sure I am not alone in this.

I'll save some money but there's lot's of holes, such as the Doughnut hole that will cost me an additional $800 out-of-pocket at the end of the year. BETTER THAN NOTHING!
