I knew that I might reach the gap before the year was out and I did. I will not use this plan next year. I found another plan after I signed that would be better and not cost me much.
I do think that something should be done with the gap since most seniors will hit it before the end of the year. Either we have coverage or we don't. I thought I did all the research necessary for a good decision. My husband does not use much medication now but to insure him for the future, I enrolled him in a plan in May. I then found that this plan (which I did not see listed before my choice) is the best one for me. The premiums may be higher but there is no gap. In the long run, it will cost me less.
