I contacted this company regarding a medication prescribed by my doctor. The medication requires prior authorization and I wanted to ensure that the medication would be covered. The first representative that I spoke with told me that all I needed to do for approval was to give the prescription to the Walgreens pharmacist. I knew that this information was incorrect, as it specifically states that prior authorization is required by the physician. I contacted the company again and spoke to another representative. He told me the information that I received was incorrect. He gave me the phone number that my doctor needed to call to receive the prior authorization. He told me it would take no more than 48 to 72 hours to receive a response. He assured me that if the doctor stated that the medication was medically necessary, it would be approved. The doctor's office called the number that I was given and was told that prior authorization would not be given unless I signed up for their plan. Once again, I contacted the company to find out why I received this misinformation. I spoke to another representative who was totally uninformed about anything to do with the drug and the requirements needed for coverage. I tried several times to explain my dilemma and she had no idea what I was talking about. As a result, I will not be signing up for their Medicare Pt. D plan. My advice to anyone considering this plan and have any questions/concerns to contact the company several times to ensure you receive accurate information.
