What ever you do never sign up for this Part D Medicare insurance coverage through (Anthem) Blue Cross. On Medicare.gov plan finder Blue Cross repeatedly report total drug costs below the the price they will charge you once your join their plan. In some cases they will charge you more than 240% increase after your join their plan. You file a grievance with them and they basically say tough luck....they hide behind what they say they cannot quota actually charges because drug cost change by the hour and day when you request the drug to be filed. Maybe we should have the SEC regulate these insurance companies as they even go so far as to quote a 3 month figure for mail order as to what the drug cost will be. Blue Cross will then charge you three times as much because they say the consumer does not understand understand that is only a 1 month figure in the detailed plan finder. Example the plan finder shows a figure of $500 at month 1 and then month 2 and 3 will be $-0- so the total drug cost is $500, but never expect them to stand behind that figure...instead they will charge you 240% more and so what. You complain to the CMS and they call the insurance company and report back so what they charged you the right amount? Does CMS investigate for the consumer....no way!!! Even though CMS tells the Senate Committee on Aging that they monitor the insurance companies for actuaries in total drug costs....don't believe it!!! How is our consumer advocate? Wish I knew???
