Called Customer Service 4x medication was not available on Tier 1 and Tier 2. Checking for alternative... They advised would be sent for review after speaking/faxing Dr medical info. Never called Dr., never faxed Dr., never heard back from anyone. They used common names like 'Don' 'John' 'Val' but this office is outsourced and no-one I spoke with I would bet had names that were so American...sorry but my opinion. You cannot speak with a supervisor...was on hold twice for over 1/2 hour just to find one...never came to the phone. These reps are simply reading a script and have no knowledge as to what process they are actually doing. Dropping BCBSIL MedicareRX once open enrollment arrives. Sadly I retired from BCBSIL and I have NEVER seen such poor customer service and follow up. We actually cared about our customers and went above and beyond to secure the best resolution for them. Totally disgusted!

I have had BCBS/D for three years. I wanted to change because they are dropping too many drugs from their formular. I have spent many, many hours going over other plans and although some of my drugs are not covered, after reading reviews and calling some companies, I will stay where I am. Waits on phone for over an an hour with an unimformed person answering questions. I know more than they do. I read a certain company has taken additional funds from a clients account and when they tried to get a refund, it was so difficult to get anywhere. I personally can say BCBS has awesome customer service. I have not been hung up on, kept on hold or had to deal with uninformed employees. If they cannot answer your question, they happily transfer you to aa Supervisor. I guess it is a matter of what is most important to you. Of course money is a top priorty for all of us but if I had to spend a year dealing with "shady" companies, I would live in constant stress. Sometimes there is a bigger picture when choosing a Plan. If any of you are wondering why the accolades for BCBS...So far they have the best customer service, assistance and concern for their clients. Good luck in making an informed decision. It is difficult for sure.

They have three plans to chose from. You can use the on-line calculator to chose a plan based on total cost for the year. The estimates for the plan I have chosen have been close. of course if you require a one time drug then the cost may go up depending the tier.

My wife has a level 4 meds, and when I first agreed to sign up with BCBC RX, they did not inform me about how must her meds would have cost. My wife is a retired school teacher with a very good health plan. Now with the best program that BCBS has, its costing us about 900.00 a month in meds cost. When she had the other plan as a retired teacher is cost about 29.00 a month for the same meds. What a mistake, should have stay with the other insurance plan. THE ONLY THING BCBS HAS, IS THAT THEY PAY ON TIME TO THE DOCTORS. VERY VERY DISSATISFIED

Most informed agents, great formulary, my local pharmacy is in network! (I live in a town of 1200 in Southern Illinois) Please note the other rating is about Anthem BCBS, which is not even in Illinois. Maybe the other poster should do more research before posting :)

Anthem, specifically; Medicare Rx Rewards Standard is unacceptable. Remove drugs from formulary at any time. Dissallow prescriptive drugs which is effective for patient when other lower cost generic ones are available. Pharmacist changes doctors orders at will, without consent.
