For me, this coverage is a total waste of money. In 2015 they covered just about 10% of prescriptions required. For many drugs, they put them in tier 3 or 4, which means they cover little or none of it, even though the drug may be a relatively inexpensive generic, such as levodopa/carbidopa or escitaloprom. They call these "non preferred brands" even though they are generics and there may be no substitute. I'm cancelling the coverage, after having paid for it for many years and not needing it, when i need it I find it doesn't really cover anything.

I wanted something cheap that would cover my insulin as it ran about $800/month. Unfortunately, like ALL Rx plans they are bound by Medicare rules and therefore after 3-5 months you hit the donut hole and your Rx costs skyrocket and you hit a ridiculous out of pocket number, then, once you spend a certain amount, your Rx's become reasonable again...usually about December assuming you could afford the insane amounts for the majority of the year (june-november). Humana's customer service was a pain in the butt to work with, and every month they would make some minor change forcing the pharmacy to contact the Doctor for new prescriptions (usually because of a code change or some other insane thing). I was charged $45 more (would have been $400 in the donut hole) for 1 UNIT over the standard amount, necessitating the doctor to rewrite the prescription to accommodate that so I didn't have to pay double. I don't think any of the companies are much better having read over 20 or 30 plans....they are all dictated to by the government so no wonder it's a mess! There really is no plan that doesn't screw you june-november if you have even one expensive prescription. It's all by design.

Humana is the worst I have experienced. The long and short of it is they will and do use every trick in the book to keep patients from obtaining costly new drugs that have no generic available. Just because your physician writes you are an urgently needed perscription does not translate into your pharmacy being able to charge Humana without paperwork, and more papaerwork and phone calls. Meanwhile you are unable to obtain medications for days, even weeks. And one approval for a prescription does not mean that your refill will be able to be filled without starting all over again in phone calls and paperwork. Nightmare! Call the Humana phone number and the phone staffer has a list of rote answers you can not get beyond; unable to speak to same person 2x's as no extensions #'s and no access to supervisors. Drug tier lists change constantly. Need an antibotic ... better hope one of the old, old drugs will work for us as that is what they cover. Need a pain patch, shingles med or any common costly drug and Humana will do everything it can to only approve an older less costly drug.

they have covered my prescriptions i need for 7 months. i went to the pharmacy and they changed the quantity limits without even notifying me.there customer service people told me we dont have to notify you. we chose not to send letters.i think this is so wrong to leave people hanging like that. and they still would not help me. they would not fill the prescription.i dont want anyone to go through what i did.that company should be totally ashamed of themselves. when i signed up with them there was no limits. now they change that with no notice. very unacceptable.i was also treated very very badly no sympathy they were rude and acted if i was a bother.....

I will not sign up with Humana again. Their customer service is very poor. No one can help me when I call. I am put on hold for a long time. The records on my personal web site are incorrect and no one seems able to correct it. The mail order service is very poor. It takes over a month to get a prescription filled. They cannot get my prescriptions correct - refilled one without anyone asking, failed to fill several that the doctor faxed in and I mailed in.

I am VERY discusted! Having been in the business of benefit rating for over 35 years, I don't understand how you can justify a 30% increase in premium, plus a 6% increase in deductible after only 8 months of offering this benefit. You have obviously "low balled" the cost to get enrollment. This practice is dispicable!!!
