Difficult to contact. Member Web site does not give necessary information and sometimes gives incorrect information or no information. makes unwanted phone calls Customer service not the best.

After extensive research into Part D plans because I am new to Medicare this year, Magellan covered most of my meds and gave me all the pricing for each of them. Since they seemed the most reasonable for coverage on most of my meds, I chose them. On January 1st I paid $4.18 for a very common generic drug, 30 day supply. On my second renewal, they gave me a 90 day supply of the same drug AND CHARGED $65.00 FOR A 90 DAY SUPPLY !! Even my feeble math brain knows that $4.18 x 3 should be $12.54. I was never notified of any potential price changes and I can never get them on the phone no matter what time of day I call ... the minimum wait time is always over one hour. I am beyond frustrated and am afraid they will pull this stunt with my other 8 meds to a point where I will no longer be able to afford them. Is this happening to anyone else?

It's Saturday. I'm home for the weekend and need to order 2 prescriptions that Magellan has my scripts for. I go to their website. Aside from being confusing, there is NO WAY to see your submitted and approved medications your doctor wrote and sent to Magellan. (All you can see are the status of any "claims" you have submitted) The Magellan website provides you no way to order on line. I called Magellan "Customer Service" (and waited 20 minutes for someone to pick up). Explaining that I needed to order two prescriptions today, I was told they knew nothing about how the website worked and the only way they knew to order my prescriptions was to call the Magellan Rx Pharmacy. So I looked up and called the pharmacy. The recording came on and said we are CLOSED, call back during regular business hours, M-F, 8AM-10PM (except holidays). When I have called Magellan Rx (during their "regular business hours"), I have waited on hold for up to 40 minutes. I selected Magellan based on the projected annual cost I would pay for the (extensive) list of medications I take. They were "new" and "unrated" at the time I signed up. Based on the experiences I have had in dealing with Magellan both online and on the phone (too extensive to list here), HANDS DOWN, I rate Magellan as THE WORST Medicare Rx pharmacy I have ever dealt with. I would NOT recommend them to anyone. I wish I had signed with someone other then Magellan. Be warned if you plan to sign with them!

This plan is awful. The customer service is terrible. IN addition to waiting over 2 hours for someone to answer the call the representatives are not trained to handle the situation and had no clue on what I was talking about when over quantity limits. In addition, the medicare website does not tell you that certain medications that are considered specialty meds are on their tier 4 program and you are responsible for 50% of the medication. This is the worst plan I ever had and I really wish I knew this prior to enrollment.

Magellan has been very easy to work with. They approved medications that were not on the formulary for me when necessary. The ease of contacting them is a plus. I would like to see online bill pay for my premiums.
